Spirulina Smoothie Bowl

My go to breakfast is a green smoothie bowl. It is packed with a variety of nutrients, easy to prep, supports my digestion and energy first thing in the morning, and it tastes delicious! Below is the recipe I use. You know you best so please feel free to add different fruits, dates, protein powder, coconut flakes, honey, etc based on your preference. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

RECIPE:

  • 1 cup of frozen fruit (I prefer a little banana and mango)

  • 1/4 cup frozen avocado (This gives it that creamy texture)

  • 1 TBSP of organic nut butter and/or 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

  • Handful of spinach (Great way to sneak in some veggies and it's easier to digest)

  • 1 teaspoon of spirulina

  • 1 cup of almond milk

  • 1/3 cup of Purely Elizabeth granola or granola of your choice (topping)

  • Handful of berries (topping)

  • 1 tsp of organic nut butter (topping)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Blend fruit, avocado, nut butter, protein powder, green powder, spinach, and almond milk

  2. Put smoothie in a small bowl

  3. Top with granola, berries, and nut butter

  4. ENJOY!

TIP: To save time in the morning before work I like to prep the smoothie base the night before. That way I can just pull it out of the fridge, throw the toppings on, and be ready to start my day!
