Spirituality Sunday

In continuation of my "Spirituality Sunday Series", here are some quotes that resonated with me from my daily devotional this week, my key takeaways, and an activity to hopefully support you with your spiritual health this week.

Quotes:

"In a world characterized by working and taking, the admonition to rest and receive seems too easy. As you trust Me more and more, you are able to receive Me and My blessings abundantly...Be still and know that I am God".
"Learn to take minibreaks from the world, finding a place to be still in My presence and listen to My voice...Though I pour blessings upon your always, some of My richest blessings have to be actively sought...Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you".

Takeaways:

My biggest takeaway from these quotes is: If we can carve out more quiet time with Him and rest in his presence, we will attain way more blessings and accomplishments.

We live in a very past faced world, where a lot of us believe the harder we work the more accomplished we will be and the more blessings we will receive. However, often being overworked can lead to: burn out, fatigue, loss of concentration and creativity, health issues, anxiety, depression, addiction, broken relationships, etc. These side effects can cause us to end up actually being less productive in the long run, and can lead us to being blind to the blessings we have right in front of us. If we can carve out more quiet time with Him, it's going to help us to see through his perspective. He is going to help us decide what truly matters and what doesn't matter, provide us with more mental clarity, energy, and strength, and guide us to take actions that will align with our true purpose, which in return will support us with being more productive. Now, there is nothing wrong with working hard. This is a HUGE strength! This was just a reminder that to do our best work and to be our best selves, we need to carve out some quiet and quality time with Him.

I'm curious to know, what is your biggest takeaway from these quotes? Please feel free to comment here, message me directly, or discuss this with your family and friends.

Weekly Spiritual Activity:

  • Carve out some quiet time daily this week in the morning, in the afternoon, and at night to rest and talk to Him.

  • Schedule out at least five minutes, find a quiet spot with nobody around, take a few deep breaths, and just talk to Him. If you have a busy schedule, it might be helpful to schedule it on your calendar or set alarms as reminders.

  • Journal how this quiet time made you feel, and what further insight you gained from doing so.

  • Challenge someone else to do this activity, and follow up with them midweek to see what successes or challenges they've had with implementing this.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a happy and healthy week!
