Spirituality Sunday

Happy Sunday Everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

In continuation of my "Spirituality Sunday Series", I will be sharing a quote that resonated with me this week, key takeaways, and an activity that will hopefully support you with your spiritual health this week.

Quote:

"Instead of single-mindedly pursuing some goal, talk with Me about it. If the goal fits into My plans for you, I will help you reach it. If it is contrary to My will for you, I will gradually change the desire of your heart. Seek Me first and foremost; then the rest of your life will fall into place, piece by piece".

Takeaways:

We all have goals that we want to achieve. This could be a weight loss goal we've been working towards, an exercise or healthy eating routine we are trying to establish, working to get a promotion in our career, striving to be a better parent, etc. Now, most of us probably know that big goals are not always easy to achieve. Often they come with challenges, and can leave us feeling exhausted, burned out, and maybe even defeated. Sometimes we can't reach our goals, and sometimes we do reach them just to find out that we are not as fulfilled as we thought we would be. For example: Say your goal was to become rich and famous, and you meet this goal. However, when you finally get there, you realize you have no privacy, you don't know who your true friends are, you've missed out on time well spent with loved ones, you don't truly enjoy what you do, and you have this tremendous pressure to be flawless all the time, etc. You might have reached this goal, but at the end of the day you feel alone and empty. Now, on the flipside, say you truly enjoy what you do, strive to do your best work, and aim to be the best version of yourself, and you end up being rich and famous from this. You met your ultimate goal, but you are also fulfilled due to having the right motives.

This quote was a reminder to me that I need to communicate with Him to set and achieve goals that will align with my true purpose. Since He created our purpose, it's going to be nearly impossible to find it without communicating with Him. He can give us the energy, strength, guidance, and perspective we need to achieve goals that will leave us feeling fulfilled.

I'm curious to know, what is your biggest takeaway from this quote this week? Please feel free to comment here, message me directly, or discuss this with your family or friends.

Weekly Spiritual Activity:

Consider doing the following this week:

  • Write down your goals. (They can be as small as exercising one time this week, or as big as starting your own company. Reflect on anything you want to achieve, whether it's short or long term.)

  • Write down why these goals are important to you.

  • Write down how your life would be impacted and how it would feel if you did meet these goals long term.

  • Take some time daily this week to talk to Him about your goals and your motives, and ask Him "What do you want me to do?".

  • Write down any signs you receive from Him, and any successes you had to support you with getting closer to your goals.

  • Share this activity with someone that you think could benefit from it, and please feel free to comment here or message me directly with any successes or challenges you faced while implementing this weekly activity.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you found some value from this, and have a happy and healthy week!
