In honor of St. Patrick‘s Day, here is a festive green recipe. It literally tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream, but it is packed with nutrients. The mint and the fiber from the fruits and veggies in this recipe aids digestion, so it’s the perfect way to kickstart your morning! You can either make it a shake or a smoothie bowl depending on your preference. I hope you enjoy it, and don’t forget to wear green, and also eat your greens today!
Shamrock Shake:
Ingredients:
1/2 frozen banana
1 TSP of matcha powder
small handful of mint
handful of spinach
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I used Arbonne‘s plant based protein powder)
1 TBSP of cocoa nibs
1 cup of almond or coconut milk
Shamrock Shake Instructions:
Blend all ingredients
Pour into a glass
Enjoy, and do a little Irish jig!
Shamrock Smoothie Bowl:
Ingredients:
1/2 frozen banana
1 TSP of matcha powder
small handful of mint
handful of spinach
1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
1 TBSP of chia seeds (optional)
1 TBSP of cocoa nibs (optional)
1 cup of almond or coconut milk
Optional Toppings:
berries
coconut
honey
peanut or almond butter
cocoa nibs
granola
Instructions:
Blend smoothie base ingredients
Pour into a small bowl
Top with your favorite toppings
